On February 1, 2019 DAK completed the acquisition of the PET Recycling Facility in Richmond, IN, USA from Perpetual Recycling Solutions.
The Richmond recycling operations produce high quality Food-grade rPET flake with an annual capacity of ~100 million lbs/yr (~45,000 tons/yr) rPET flake. The Richmond facility compliments Alpek Polyester’s current rPET operations by producing Food-grade rPET recycling. The acquisition demonstrates Alpek Polyester’s on going commitment to sustainable product offerings and meet growing customer and consumer demand for rPET content.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining all plant equipment in a safe and sufficient manner.
Troubleshoot and repair all plant equipment as required.
Maintain preventative maintenance programs on all plant equipment including the front end, wash line, bottle sorters, flake sorters, etc.
Maintain preventative maintenance programs on all auxiliary equipment including boiler, air compressors, material handling equipment, etc.
Maintain lubrication programs on all equipment.
Complete required maintenance reports.
Responsible for reporting and documenting all necessary maintenance repair items, required process improvements and safety concerns to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
Responsible for communicating spare parts requirements to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
Responsible for maintaining the spare parts room.
Responsible for housekeeping within the maintenance areas.
Follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
Follow all applicable company and plant Quality, Safety, and Housekeeping rules. (See Requirements)
Related duties as assigned
High school education or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years in a manufacturing environment as a maintenance technician.
Background in hydraulic, pneumatics, boilers, AC/DC motors and PLC’s preferred.
Strong electrical knowledge. Experience with high voltage (480) electrical wiring and repair. Able to read schematics.
Ability to operate computerized equipment required.
Ability to complete maintenance reports as required.
Requires walking / standing approximately 95% of time; lifting up to 50 lbs.; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 25% of time; involves climbing up to 15 % of time
Must supply own work tools.
Must have working knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits and controls.
Good organizational skills required. Must be detailed oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks.
Forklift license required.
Must be able to work and perform in a team environment.
Must have a positive attitude and take direction from the Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Must be hands on and a good listener.
