The individual is responsible for the development, operation, maintenance and administration of network infrastructure and Internet services.
Typical performance duties include, but are not limited to the following:
A. Evaluate and strategize a full network build-out including: IP, LAN/WAN/MAN network topologies, frame relay and Ethernet.
B. Define and coordinate the delivery of advanced networking services. Knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN and Bandwidth Management.
C. Provide pre-sales strategy and post-sales support. Interface with internal clients, industry partners and alliances and vendors to ensure network projects meet Company objectives and expectations.
D. Evaluate technical requests and new technologies for relevance, economic value and compatibility.
E. Strong helpdesk support
F. Assist in the development and administering of project expenses and capital budget and staffing plans.
G. Planning, installation, maintenance and support for local outside and inside network hardware and software. Responsibility includes issues relating to network security.
H. Work with users in research and recommend telecommunications options.
I. Assist in the development of short- and long-term plans to meet client expectations.
J. Requires employee to work overtime and irregular hours during maintenance and outages.
K. Perform other duties assigned in times of special need to assure continuity of service.
Job Type: Full Time
A. Computer Science or equivalent degree preferred with a minimum of three years’ experience in data network topologies.
B. Cisco, Juniper, Linux or Network+ certifications desired.
C. ISP and wireless data experience strongly desired.
D. Working knowledge of DNS, LAN, 802.1Q and 802.1ad (QinQ).
E. Thorough knowledge of SIP VOIP, Frame Relay and Gigabit Ethernet.
F. Production experience using BGP and OSPF routing protocols required.
G. Must possess ability to work in a team environment.
H. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of self-motivation.
I. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
J. Must be willing to maintain a neat and orderly appearance due to working in the public view.
K. Must have a valid driver’s license.
L. Must be physically, mentally and psychologically able to perform all of the required duties.
M. UNIX or FreeBSD experience strongly desired.
N. Postfix or similar email server experience desired.
