The Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County (EDC) seeks to fill the position of Office Manager. This is an essential position that supports all economic development activity, processes and staff. Major responsibilities include:
Office Management: Work closely with accounting firm to ensure payables, receivables and payroll are processed and all financial reports are prepared as needed for board and committee meetings. Responsible for human resource functions of office: record attendance, manage benefits, help with onboarding new employees. Responsible for updating internal and external records and databases for various reports and grant compliance. Coordinate staff schedules and help organize meetings and events as needed. Receive and route incoming mail, e-mail and phone calls. Maintain common areas of the office including all office equipment and is responsible for management of any office related maintenance, service providers and procurement of office supplies. Maintain and update all of the records of the corporation. Coordinate and send notices of all committee and board meetings. Attend, record minutes and transcribe minutes for all committee and board meetings. Prepare agendas, materials, maps, and board packets.
Data Management: Maintain sites and buildings inventory and database. Research and collect data for Requests for Information. Assists in coordinating and preparing proposals for new business attraction projects and site visits. Serve as contact for the EDC as a Business & Industry Data Center affiliate with the Indiana State Data Center. Research and update data on EDC website on an ongoing basis. Responsible for Cost of Living Survey data collection and input three times per year.
Job Type: Full Time
Bachelor's degree preferred, but adequate work experience will eliminate the need for a degree.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent research capabilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate information.
Ability to maintain accurate records and files; prepare factual reports.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written format with co-workers, clients, community leaders, agencies and members of the general public.
Ability to multi-task by working on several projects simultaneously and often in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work evenings and attend special meetings as necessary.
Be highly organized and efficient with time management.
Preferred but not required: working knowledge of standard accounting rules, practices and procedures.
