Job Title: Energy Sales & Marketing Manager
Location: Covers entire Harvest Land Co-op territory within Eastern Indiana and Western Ohio with offices based out of Richmond, Indiana.
Summary: Responsible for providing leadership in developing and implementing member marketing plans to achieve profitable and sustainable market share growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supports Harvest Land Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by the Harvest Land Co-op.
Facilitates a strategic marketing plan on an annual basis that is designed to assist Harvest Land Co-op in growing its liquid fuel, propane, lubricant DEF, and retail station sales in a profitable and sustainable manner. Continuously drives the success of the implemented program throughout the year.
Effectively manages, provides leadership, and remains accountable for the Harvest Land Energy Sales Specialist team including, but not limited to recruiting, selecting, training, monitoring, appraising, motivating, coaching, counseling and disciplining as needed.
Manages the Harvest Land’s Energy Department’s annual sales promotion program.
Assists in optimizing the use of CountryMark’s sales promotion programs, such as the brand marketing program, fuel & lube challenges, refinery tours, the tank wagon imaging program and lube rewards, as well as working with propane suppliers to promote profitable growth.
Generate sales through cold calling and qualifying prospects.
Serves as a source of market intelligence by regularly researching industry publications, and conversing with end-user customers, as well as industry colleagues.
Reports information regarding potential customer acquisitions, as well as retail fuel opportunities.
Provides sales leads using the Dodge Report, trade shows, referrals, CountryMark’s website, and social media sites.
Effectively and skillfully communicates and presents product and service information to end-user customers, as well as energy team members and other employees.
Prepares an annual budget, schedules expenditures, and analyzes variances; initiating corrective actions when necessary.
Performs assignments in a professional manner and respects the need for member confidentiality.
Initiates and organizes customer meetings, round-table discussions, staff meetings and promotional events as needed.
Performs additional tasks that may be required.
This job requires supervisory responsibility overseeing the performance of the Energy Sales Specialists.
Job Type: Full Time
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred candidates should have proven sales and/or management experience.
A valid Driver's License is required. CETP Certification, or the ability to acquire it, is preferred. Candidates will need a good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
